some websites show a pop-up to confirm that you want to leave the page. In this case, the default choice if you press enter should be "no" (stay on the page)

I think of that dialog as being similar to:

"Please confirm your request" - OK - Cancel

Usually OK is the default button in that situation.

I don't know if there is any way to change the way this works in Firefox 57.

"Please confirm your request" - OK - Cancel

Usually OK is the default button in that situation.

Usually, this dialog appears when you have something on the page that will be lost if you leave. As a safety measure, the default should be "stay on the page"
