Why does the Yahoo finance link only show up sometimes?

more options

Recently when I open or navigate to the Yahoo main page I may or may not see the Yahoo Finance link. Then I have to play the razzle dazzle game to get the Finance link or Finance screen. This started about 2-3 days ago. Sometimes the Finance link is right there where it should be, and sometimes it is a safari to make it appear. Hope you / we can whoop it. Thanks.

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

I didn't know they customized their headings. That's annoying.

You could consider taking matters into your own hands by bookmarking https://finance.yahoo.com/ and then assigning a keyword to it, such as yf. Then when you type yf in the address bar and press Enter, Firefox will load it directly, no link required.

To assign a keyword to a bookmark, you need to call up its Properties in one of these ways:

  • On the Bookmarks Toolbar, right-click the bookmark > Properties
  • On the Bookmarks Menu on the classic menu bar, right-click the bookmark > Properties
  • On the Bookmarks Menu button () drop-down, right-click the bookmark > Properties
  • On the "Library" button () > Bookmarks > Recently Bookmarked, right-click the bookmark > Properties

In the Properties dialog, type yf in the blank box next to Keyword and click OK to complete the edit.
