This forum wants to limit the amount of users register by hiding the [register] button. If u want to ask a question, u have to log in. so naturally ppl try out their firefox browser account logins, which is not valid for this forum. But you cant find the REGISTER button anywhere.

If u click on ask a question, u get a whole page of long text before you. which i directly clicked unhelpful reason: too damn long!

only if u keep clicking thru, u get the hidden REGISTER page!

This is just crazy. you ppl were clearly high when u made this forum.

Hey, being spiteful is a way to get you kicked off the forums, yeah its confusing to navigate and some answers are a little to complex but this place is for help not for ranting about the forums or the creators of it people contribute to help if you cannot grasp that then please leave.

FYI, almost everyone here is a volunteer and we have no say about how this forum is run or how hard is to use this forum for new users of this forum.

Sorry, I feel the same way and have expressed my opinion with the Admin's frequently over the last 8 years. I wouldn't expect as change any time soon.

The way it is now has been this way for pretty much 7+ years at least.

If Mozilla was going to implement the more traditional way of registering a account like some forum software has then they would have done so years ago.

Most people new to this site have a issue(s) they want help on and Mozilla would prefer people ask it as a new thread and not hijack an existing thread that has same or similar question. The more traditional way of registering would increase the amount of using a existing thread hijacks. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-rules-and-guidelines#w_posting-support-requests

Plus this Ask a Question introduces you to the Knowledge base https://support.mozilla.org/ during the process which may answer some or all of their issue(s) before submitting.

Mozilla is not really working on this old Kitsune platform anymore (unless that has changed in last few months) so Mozilla may not be doing any real new changes or features in meantime. Early on last year Mozilla actually moved the site to a Lithium platform that they had high hopes for but it had issues and Mozilla then moved it back to Kitsune after a while.

Btw now that you are registered you can discuss about this in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors as this Firefox section is for desktop Firefox.
