If I switch from emclient to Thunderbird, what must I do to transfer my email folders without changing them?

I've used emclient for several years and hope to retain all the folders of emails with the folders' names and tree structure.

Normally if you're using the IMAP protocol to access your email nothing special should be required, once your account is configured in Thunderbird it will synchronize the same content.

Can you confirm you were using IMAP in emclient? Who is/was your email provider?

For mail that is not stored on an IMAP server, export the emclient mail to eml files and import them to TB with ImportExportTools:

If you have just a few eml files, drag them from an Explorer folder and drop them onto a TB folder.
