My Firefox only saves the history for a few days and I don't know why. That are about 300 sites. Probably the longest it saves are the last 7 days. When I go to about:config and type "places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages" it gives me a value about 60000. So why won't Firefox save up to 60000 sites of history then? I am currently on Firefox ESR.

Thanks for any help.

Profile data can be removed or not recorded several ways;

  • 1) Running Firefox in Private Mode (nothing is recorded)
  • 2) Privacy settings; (In the address bar, type about:preferences#privacy<enter>)
  • 3) Many disk cleaners and anti-virus type programs can remove data from browsers. Open their settings and have them leave the browsers alone.
  • 4) Mal-ware.
