I want to remove Chrome from my computer, but first, I need to import my IE Favorites Folder from the Chrome Task Bar and import it into the task bar on FireFox. I have tried different suggestions but now have a bunch of duplicates. Can/how do I erase all of the FireFox bookmarks and then just start over from scratch?

Chosen solution

Removing all bookmarks is simple enough. But importing bookmarks is an all or nothing process.

Try doing this; Export your bookmarks to an HTML file. Open it in an editor. Then remove what you don't want. Then save the new file with a new name.

Now import the newly edited file. All done.

Thanks for the help. I still have to do a couple of extra clicks to get to the folder, but I cleaned everything up. One of the few things that I liked about Chrome was the Favorites folder was just below the task bar and one click away.

The Bookmarks (Favorites) bar can be placed on the window below the address bar.

Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar.

Note: about:customizing is no longer present in Firefox 47+ releases.

  • Press Alt or F10 to bring up the toolbar.
Then View > Toolbars > Customize.
  • Right-click on a blank spot in the toolbar and select Customize.

Look for Show / Hide Toolbars at the bottom left.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.
