Hi wmcairns, what does the prompt look like?

Here's a guess:

If Firefox is asking for a Master Password, did you save a login for either:

  • Your Firefox Account used for Sync
  • Your home page

In that case, Firefox will ask you to unlock the Password Manager by entering the Master Password before automatically logging you in to the service/site.

If your Firefox was ever connected to a Firefox Account, and you do not want to use Sync, you can disconnect it on the Options page.
