RANSOMEWARE ON FIREFOX
I managed to remove ransomware last year (or two) ago by uninstalling Firefox and then downloading the latest Firefox, but this time the ransomeware refuses to go away so I can not shut down Firefox to remove it using the uninstall wizard. If I reboot / restart Windows the ransome page comes up straight away under Firefox browser window. What can I do to remove the contaminated Firefox ?
Chosen solution
Thanks, I do not actually know what got rid of it, althoughI did put a Norton software suite onto the pc and run a scan but this did not resolve it, After a reboot of the pc I heard over the headphones the ransome ware audio going thru its ultimatum, ( I was writing my question to you guys on my laptop, so I was not watching the pc ), the ransomeware was gone after about a minute without any action from me . Although, Norton did not report the removal of any malware. So thanks to 'WestEnd', 'FredMcD' and 'Mccoy'.

That isn't a firefox issue but what email you opened to get infected with the ransomware. You need to take it to a computer shop to fix this. It's most likely not coming from firefox but your system O/S has been taken over by ransomware to cause this.
A way out of a trap page is to (force it if needed) Close Firefox. Wait about 20 seconds for Firefox to finish closing. Right-click on the Firefox icon and select Open New Window. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit. This will flush out that web page from the Session Store.

Firstly, Firefox CAN NOT shut down. The 'active' Firefox window is able to close, (when I picked up the RW page it opened up a window next to the active Firefox window) but the ransomeware window is attached to the Firefox browser so will not shut down, even if you wait twenty minutes, thus, the Firefox uninstall 'wizard' tool prompts "Close Firefox..." , so uninstall can not be used. Even when I went for a forced reboot of of the WINDOWS 10, it automatically open up the RW window with Firefox browser active. Secondly, "Menu > File > Exit." where does this exist /reside ? Can you elaborate? Please.

Yes, IT IS!, I know Firefox did not invent, design or procure the ransome ware but there must be a way of restoring Firefire without the ransome ware attachment. You are partially right in thinking that it has taken over the O/S but I believe it needs a running Firefox to draw /generate the page because when Windows 10 opens up it seems to have stored the previous Firefox settings and firefox is set running without a command by me. By the way, do you own such a computer shop ?

If you can't close Firefox from the Windows Task Manager; Close all other programs. Press and hold the computers power button until the computer shuts down.
Wait a few minutes. Then reboot.
Using Win IE, follow these instructions;
You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Make sure you run the mal-scanners anyway.
