Password is denied for email access
I have been using Thunderbird for several years for my Gmail account. I recently received a warning message from Google that some of my accounts may be corrupt. I didn't recognize one so deleted it and thereafter was unable to get my messages. Every time I entered my password it refused it. I tried several of my past passwords and they did not work. I then went to my preferences and tried changing the password but that again did not work. HELP! I don't like using any other software for my email and depend on Thunderbird as it has all my mailing lists. I really would appreciate a fix here. Using version 60.40.0 with an iMac using OS X 10.14.2 Mojave. Thanks and regards

With POP you'll need to 'allow less secure apps' in your Google settings. https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6009563

What is your account type - POP or IMAP?
Can you login to your Google account via webmail?
It is a pop.gmaill.com account. I can open the account through Firefox. Thanks in anticipation. Best regards Mike Wall

Found the required button to switch on access to other apps. Thanks
I have the same problem with IMAP setup. Had to change my Gmail-password today due to security alert from Google. And also strengthen my password-handling and now I'm not able to log in with T-bird. I'd like to have the stronger security level on my Gmail-login - how can I connect with my T-bird?
