I am running thunderbird 60.5.3 32bit on windows with five different imap accounts configured. Until yesterday everything has worked well for the last 6 months. When I booted my w7 x64 today I get the subjected error message for my gmail account. All other imap accounts work ok. I am also running POP peeper which is also configured with imap the same way as thunderbird is. I use pop peeper to quickly check all my accounts because it can show all incoming messages for all accounts in one view. POP peeper still works with my gmail accounts so the problem with gmail and thunderbird is very likely to be a thunderbird issue. Any hints what may cause the issue and how to troubleshoot it?

After 2 hours the problem suddenly has disappeared. Maybe it was more google than thunderbird related after all. Nonetheless it is still strange to me because POP peeper did not have the problem to access my gmail imap account. I had double checked that both programs use the same credentials and oauth method. Anyway the problem is gone again.
