F9 key on my Windows laptop has a search shortcut that brings up Windows Start Search menu in general. But in Firefox, this key directs text input to Firefox search bar instead of launching Windows Search. How can I disable this?

Hi Overwatch, I don't notice F9 doing anything searh-related on my Firefox (Microsoft keyboard). Instead, on some pages it turns on "Reader mode".

Could you describe what is happening on yours in a little more detail? For example:

  • Cursor moves to the address bar or small search bar on the main toolbar, or to the "Find in page" bar
  • Selected text is copied into the address bar or small search bar on the main toolbar, or to the "Find in page" bar

What code does the F9 key generate in your case? Are these keys set to be used as function keys or do they have special functions programmed instead?
