The local folders on my desktop has a total size of 2.7 GB. When I re-store archive files, the message appears: Not enough storage space .... delete emails to continue......

On my notebook there are already 3.8 GB data volume in the local folder; so far editable without restrictions. It is more than enough free storage-space on both of the hard disks. Is it a matter of reconfigure-ing the space limit? - And: Where could I find the point to do it / and how?

Hello, Matt, thank you for your interest. - To your question:

as soon as I come home from a trip, I copy the renamed (xx+yy) files Inbox and Sent from the Thunderbird directory ´Local-Folders´ into the Desktop-Thunderbird directory ´Local Folders´ from my notebook; In the then opened Destop-Thunderbird I move the mails from xx to the inbox - and yy to sent... Here a little more background: I work with Thunderbird under Suse-Linux (Leap 15) After some Thunderbird crashes last week the send function was blocked.

I only have user knowledge of Thunderbird. The easiest way to fix it was to reinstall the program. - The message about insufficient disk space appeared after transferring backup files to my inbox when I was busy inserting my archives. I checked the available free space on the hard disk - and then compared the folder size of the local folder directories on both devices...: Notebook and Desktop.

I can't see why the desktop reports a lack of storage space with a smaller TB file, but the notebook with a much larger local folder directory doesn't....
