I open my Firefox web explorer, go to www.match.com and it gets redirected to this site: https://www.lexamore.nl/ But my Chrome web explorer does not have this problem. Can somebody tell me what needs to be repaired??

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

The problem is not solved. I get 404 Page Not Found.

This is a nasty problem. Thank you for looking for an answer. I am sure it's out there.

Remove History For One Site

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any settings.

This did not work.

I am still being re-directed to this site. https://www.lexamore.nl/

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions. Thanks

I suspect adware. But you are using a Linux. Go thru the programs installed on your system. If there is something you don't know what it is, use a web search on it.

Hello georges5729,

Are you by any chance located in the Netherlands ?

When I click on the links to "match.com" here on this support forum page, I too get redirected to "lexamore.nl", which is a Dutch dating site.

And then I found these search results ......

Looks to me like "lexamore.nl" is just the Dutch version of "match.com".

No, I am not in the Netherlands. I am in USA.

Thank you for clearing that up.

I ran both sites on Scamadviser, and they both came up "clean".

I toggled the redirect-related preference on the "about:config" page, which made no difference for me (I am in the Netherlands).

Maybe you could give this add-on a try :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/remove-redirect/

FWIW : when I try to visit "match.com" using Edge (I'm, not on Linux, but on Windows), it too redirects me to "lexamore.nl", which shows that this is not just a Firefox issue.

McCoy, When I use Google Chrome, it doesn't redirect. I can access Match.com. The address bar shows a padlock followed by: MATCH GROUP, LLC [US] | https://match.com/messages

Please refer to my original post. Thanks for all the help.

Please refer to my original post.

I was referring to your original post by saying that I'm not on Linux, but merely pointing out that this is not just a Firefox issue, as the same thing happens using another browser.

Have you considered using the add-on I suggested ?

Yes, I have used your suggested add on. But you may be right. This might not be a firefox problem. Instead, it just might be a Match.com problem. Can this virus type behavior be caused by the Match.com websites? Could it be match.com web servers are infected? Since I don't know how these things work. I have to leave this problem unsolved and just use Google Chrome. They seem to have their act together. Thanks

Seeing you say about Chrome : "They seem to have their act together, I thought I'd try something and typed in the address bar :

www.us.match.com

And whaddaya know : no redirection .....

(edit : typo)
