Is it possible to switch between email accounts without the "Folders" pane?
I continue to be amazed at how well Thunderbird is put together. I mean wow. Really.
Question: I have three email accounts hooked into Thunderbird. I use the "Folders" pane on the left side to navigate between the accounts. This is fine but I like a really uncluttered look. Is it possible to move between accounts without using that folder pane?
Thanks!
Chosen solution
I found one solution for this which is to set View > Folders > Unified. Then I can hide the folders pane. Brilliant.
Would be great if there were a keyboard shortcut though to show/hide the folders pane.

The simplest way is to install Nostalgy and use the L key to toggle the Folder Pane (tested and working in TB 60.8).

Thanks for the reply. Nostalgy works perfectly. I'm really happy with the unified inbox solution. That way I can just hide the folders pane completely. Coming off of Gmail, I'm finding I like a simple, uncluttered interface that resembles Gmail and Thunderbird is completely able to accommodate that.
I'm going to write a review article comparing Thunderbird and Mailbird because I've looked at both extensively now and Thunderbird is the clear winner by a mile.

Last question on this thread. How do I go about suggesting that a permanent shortcut key be assigned to open/close the folder pane? (Or more generally suggest core features for future versions of Thunderbird?)
