Chosen solution

Hi 2keating, do you mean the star icon to "Bookmark This Page" or the star icon to open the Bookmarks Menu?

The first one should be in the address bar. If you don't see it, try this: click the Page Actions menu button (•••), the right-click Bookmark This Page and click Add to Address Bar.

The second one needs to be added. Either:

(A) Use the Customize panel (Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars) to drag the icon to the desired spot on the toolbar

(B) Use the method from Bookmarks in Firefox - section entitled: How do I add the Bookmarks Menu button to the toolbar?

  • Click the "Library" button:
  • Click "Bookmarks"
  • Click "Bookmarking Tools"
  • Click "Add Bookmarks Menu to Toolbar"

See Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars for more information on adding the Bookmark Menu button to the toolbar.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! I guess the star changed and now I have to click the Bookmarks and then click Bookmark this page. Should have left it alone. More steps now  :/

The "Bookmark This Page" star should still work with one click. Is yours missing?

If you usually want to assign a different folder, click the star again and turn on the editor:

Yes, my star is missing from my tool bar. I have a downward arrow in it's place for "Save to Pocket". Would like my star back.

Oops, the star is there when I click on the 3 ... But it used to be IN the tool bar, so just one click.

To modify what is in the address bar "page actions" area, use right-click:

  • right-click the Pocket icon > Remove from Address Bar
  • drop the Page Actions menu, right-click Bookmark This Site > Add to Address Bar

YAY! Thank you so much!!!

Thank you. This is not at all obvious. I hate trial-and-error user interfaces.

Hi maharvey67, it should be visible by default, you shouldn't have to hunt it down. I'm not sure why some users do not see it.
