My bookmark toolbars contain a large number of duplicates, in one instance 15, for a single site. It contains book marks for sites that I did not save. I have tried to manage and delete, per instructions. However, deleted bookmarks return again and duplicates continue to grow, even though I use a particular location infrequently.

I've seen this happen twice for two different reasons.

The first was caused by a website that someone was visiting. It was a sketchy website that was mimicking the keyboard shortcut for bookmarking, so it was able to add bookmarks by tricking Firefox.

In the other case, it was a malware-related issue. The user has an infection on this system that was adding bookmarks. It's probably a good idea to scan your computer. You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

The only other thing that pops out to me right away in your particular case is that you are using iCloud Bookmarks. Is it possible that the bookmarks that are being added are from your iCloud account or another device connected to your iCloud account? My recommendation would be to try running Firefox with that extension disabled for a while to see if the problem goes away.

Hope this helps.
