Where can I get a current version of Firefox for Solaris 10??

more options

I am running Firefox 52.0 on Solaris 10, running on a SUN Ultra 60 (a ``legacy system, if you like). My usual source, unixpackages.com, offers no more recent version, but I am beginning to encounter problems--videos don't play, etc. Is there a more up-to-date version of Firefox for Solaris 10 (sparc)? Thank you.

Mozilla does not release a build for Solaris. The Firefox 52 build was created by Oracle (ref).

Wikipedia links to the following Github repo which is using the latest Firefox ESR. No idea whether it is a good option.

Dear Mr Scher,

Thank you for your help. (You helped me with an earlier version of this four years ago, I believe.) However, this latest link appears to drop me into the middle of a conversation about how to *build* a new version of Firefox, which is beyond my poor skill. I'm looking for a tarball from which I can install a newer version. Might you know where I can find such? Thanks again.

Hi Ian, you know more about Firefox for Solaris than I do. After all my searching, that was all I could come up with.

Dear Mr. Scher,

Sorry--I did not mean to sound unappreciative. In my own searches I have found that others are facing the same problem--apparently an up-to-date browser for Solaris is an ongoing issue. In any case, many thanks for your efforts.

"Solution chosen" by a moderator, although it really isn't a "solution".

Dear ``edmeister,

Were you able to get or create a working version of Firefox from the Github site? Please clarify. Thanks.
