An app that I would commonly use will look odd or the phone runs a bit slower or hangs up in a long pause before a screen refresh. I then start to see if someone else is accessing my phone but its as though a program has been modified and my data is flowing out to some place by way of a WiFi Direct Connection through one of several ROKU devices on the WiFi at the house. I tried cellular data only from my phone and a wired Ethernet connection from my notebook but settings get turned on in the background, like a braille keyboard that I can't turn off.

Hi

This does not sound like an issue with Firefox fro Android but is something that the Roku support team should be able to help you with.
