When I read an email, there used to be a 'Next' and 'Previous' email button on the top line. This enabled me to simply move from one email to the next. In Thunderbird version 78.2.2 (32-bit), those buttons have vanished. The only way to move on to the next email in the inbox is to close it and go back to the inbox and open the next one. This is an annoying change, and I hope you can re-instate those buttons.

Chosen solution

Do you see them in the customize panel if you right click the toobar and pick "customize", from there you can drag it to the toolbar.
