I'm new to calendars and have finally figured out how to import my Google and Holiday calendars. Looks good. However, that was because TBird broke on something else.

I use TBird 68.12. I used to have my start page pointed to my Google Calendar page so the first thing I saw was my monthly calendar. Now that's broken. So my work around is to use Lightning and Calendar in TBird. I've imported Google and Holiday calendars and they look okay, butr that's not quite done.

How do I set the Options > General > Start Page from the default to the calendar?

The start page is not like the one you had set up in your web browser. At best it shows a small half windows sized thing which normally offers Thunderbird tips and a plea for donations.

So what exactly is it you want things to look like?

I realize the size is small, but I'm on a home computer with a 60" screen so it's big enough for me to read. I wouldn't try this on a cell phone.

Within the Options > General tab there is a choice between the default page or another named link. That's what I'm dealing with.

I used to have the link to my Google Calendar and it showed up in the small opening section under the email list where the message is read when you click on a specific email. Since that link no longer is accepted by TBird, I've set up my Lightning Calendar by importing my Google Calendar and National Holidays to it. It's fine when I open the calendar. That internal calendar is what I want to point to an see when my start page is displayed when I first turn on TBird.

If I use https://DuckDuckGo.com that does show up. If I use https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r?tab=wc it shows a login page asking for me to log into my Google account. I'm already logged into Google. Even so, it's asking me to do it, but the entry box doesn't accept any data entry and it creates several 405 Google error pages in the process.

The Lightning Calendar is NOT a link so that's why it's not available. Is there a way within the advanced config file to do this? Or how do I get TBird to link to Google Calendar like it used to?

Solved - partial work around.

Since the Top 10 Contributor Moderator either lost interest or couldn't answer this question I kept trying different things and did work out a partial work around.

Ignore the start page entirely. Open the Calendar in a new tab. Close TBird. Reopen TBird. The calendar is what Thunderbird closed with so that's what it opens with. My calendar is the first thing I see. All I do is click on the main tab to begin work, than MAKE SURE I focus on the calendar when I close.

I do wish someone could set Calendar to open in the start page slot automatically.
