Certain emails are landing in my spam mail box. These are not spam. They are not marked as junk. How to I allow the spam filter to let them through?

Chosen solution

Spam is a label applied by the mail provider (TB uses 'junk'). Access the account in webmail and whitelist or unblock the messages there, perhaps by adding the senders to webmail contacts.
