How to sync Google contacts with TB 78.8 on Win10
I have a fresh install of TB 78.8 on Windows 10. I use it to access my work email which is hosted by Google. I got the calendar to sync with Provider but gContactSync no longer works and I can't figure out any of the other options. I've ready about TbSync and Provider for CalDev & CardDev but can't figure out how to make it work. Could someone provide a dummies guide to getting my contacts sync'd? Thanks
Chosen solution
Install TbSync and Provider for CalDev & CardDev and double-click extensions.dav4tbsync.googlesupport to true in Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor.

Card Book also syncs Google Contacts.

Excellent! Thank you.
Hello... I tried all the methods listed above to synchronize my contacts from Gmail. None worked for me. >>> Running Thunderbird 78.8 (64bit) on Windows 10 (rev 1909) on Intel I7 (4th gen) in HP OMEN <<< Was about ready to dump Thunderbird to install another email client that handles sync with Gmail. Finally discovered CardBook! Holy COW something that really works. Yeah!!!
Yes CardBook actually works with google to synchronize my Gmail contacts to Thunderbird 78.8. Thank you so much Philippe V! Not the easiest to install (found easiest to log into google account in browser 1st, then sync to account). That said it is now synchronizing all of my four (4) Gmail account & two (2) Yahoo accounts contacts perfectly.
Now if I can find a work around for the latest version of Lightening (version 68.9 latest) not being compatible with Thunderbird 78.8 (64bit).
