My browser won't respond anymore. The only thing I can think of is that I turned off Windows Defender for a few minutes and then turned it back on.

I then turned off and closed my laptop. When I came back to turn it on, nothing will load anymore. Google Chrome works normally. But Firefox won't load anything and nothing is responsive. I didn't have an account until now and I don't want to lose all my bookmarks and browser history :(.

I tried messing with the Windows Defender Firewall as it said in the articles but nothing worked. I'm not even sure if I made it worse.

Before, on "Allowed Apps to communicate through Windows Defender Firewall" there were only Firefox and Firefox( C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) but now there are 2 Firefoxes.

The first Firefox is checked only for Private The second Firefox is checked only for Public And the Third Firefox( C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) is checked for both Private and Public.

I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose my information :(

I should also say that both Firefoxes there are unchecked. Only Firefox( C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) is checked.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see
