fix corrupted profile
have a very old laptop with 20,000 plus emails on it. Copied profile to external drive pasted to new computer. Thunderbird on new computer complains profile is corrupt and will not load.
Both computers are running the most current version of Thunderbird. Email addresses set up as POP3.
How do I extract emails from old computer to new?

First, confirm you're copying correct folder: tools>help>more troubleshooting tools. Scroll left side to profiles and click about:profiles. THis will show the location of the profile you are using. Copy that and store and rename on new PC in visible location, e.g., c:\\PROFILE. click windows icon in task bar and type run That will open a small window for command line. Enter thunderbird.exe -p and press enter. that will start profile manager. Select 'create profile' and browse and select your profile. Then give it a name on profile manager, such as MYPROFILE. continue to TB. If there was no error in copying, the profile should work.
