want to open not save word doc

Ever since I update my laptop yesterday, Firefox now opens and saves every word doc. I do NOT want to save every word doc, most of them I just want to view. How do I stop it from saving them. I have searched on Firefox, Word and Microsoft, but none of the "fixes" prevented the doc from being saved.

There is a preference you can change which may fix the issue but only temporarily. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1370494
