Right I have tried 2 things one making a Junction link, symbolic link and install directly to the N drive a SSD instead of having Firefox installed on the C drive.

Everything else is moved to the N drive using Junction and I mean everything Firefox related.

But for some reason the second Firefox is either installed, Junction or non junction symbolic link to that N drive does Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ act up.

Amazon Prime first it simply won't play videos just keep giving a error message. Disney+ the same as amazon prime.-

Netflix however goes even further, not only does it constantly log me out yes you read it log me out it also fails to play videos either because I was logged out or because internet issues or Firefox is not supported errors.

Either way 100% nothing works on those 3 sites, yet everything else works YouTube, BBC, ITV and more everything else works perfect.

Now the second I install Firefox back on C drive remember only the actual Firefox installation is on the C rest is still linked to the N drive and now magically Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ works perfectly as they should.

Anyone got a idea of why this happens or can cause this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to the Firefox Support Forum. I understand that you're experiencing some issues with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+ when using Firefox installed on a different drive.

Based on your description, it seems that the installation location or the symbolic link might be causing compatibility issues with these streaming services. While Firefox itself may be functioning correctly, the specific location of the installation folder or the symbolic link could be interfering with the playback and authentication processes of these websites.

I recommend trying the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, cached data or corrupted cookies can cause playback issues. Go to Firefox settings, click on "Privacy & Security," and under the "Cookies and Site Data" section, click on "Clear Data." Make sure to select both cache and cookies options.

Disable any extensions or add-ons: Certain extensions or add-ons may interfere with streaming services. Try disabling all extensions and see if the issue persists.

Reset Firefox settings: If the above steps don't resolve the problem, you can try resetting Firefox to its default settings. This will remove any customizations and preferences, so make sure to back up any important data. Go to Firefox settings, click on "Help," and select "Troubleshooting Information." From there, click on the "Refresh Firefox" button.

Update Firefox: Ensure that you're using the latest version of Firefox. Go to Firefox settings, click on "General," and under the "Firefox Updates" section, click on "Check for updates."

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it might be worth considering keeping the Firefox installation on the C drive if it's working fine in that location. It's possible that the streaming services have specific requirements or dependencies that are better met when Firefox is installed on the default drive.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the problem. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to ask. We're here to help!

Possibly Firefox has lost track of the DRM copy-protection components (Widevine) required by many paid media services. I don't know enough about Linux to suggest how to repair that.

I tried running Firefox with a clean new profile removing my old one temp from the entire system having it backed up, so clean profile, no extensions, no cache or data ever done on this profile, and it still had the same problems as before with only those 3 sites.

What I just remember is when I move either via installation or junction, symbolic link to another drive does ITV need me to clear cookies of the site only to work again, but that was it.

Which was why I moved it back to C as a test and it was working again and I came here for help in case it was possible.
