I have macbook. When I open a puzzle e.g. sudoku, the puzzle costantly jiggles about (which I have video of). When same puzzle is opened in PC, ipad or Safari this doesn't happen. Why?

Does it still happen with hardware acceleration disabled?

Does the page keep changing above the puzzle? This might happen if there is an image slideshow or something strange with a banner ad. I think that would normally only cause vertical motion, but if the change above causes a scroll bar to appear or disappear, it could also cause horizontal motion.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
