Hi,

Using Firefox on Fedora Silverblue (technically ublue), I'm getting stutters and skips through youtube videos. Have messed with combinations of hardware accel, wayland mode, and vaapi, but nothing seems to have helped. Videos work fine in vanilla Chrome.

Hardware is an AMD 7840u framework laptop.

Interestingly, this doesn't seem to happen on novel videos? Could be some kind of caching issue. Will update if this behaviour returns on new videos.

Install ffmpeg from RPM Fusion repo:

sudo dnf install ffmpeg

If you are using the flatpak version, install ffmpeg-full with matching runtime version as Firefox (eg 23.08):

flatpak install org.freedesktop.Platform.ffmpeg-full//23.08
