Thunderbird 128.1.0esr Send email not working

more options

My Thunderbird just upgraded me from 115 to 128.1.0esr. After the upgrade I can no longer send emails. I receive emails but when I try to send them, after pressing the send button, nothing happens - no popup telling me that Thunderbird is trying to send the email or anything else. If I close the send box, it saves the email to drafts. - I have not changed any of the outgoing server details and all was working fine with the previous version - 115.??? (don;t remember the service release but I think it could have been 9). Any help to get this resolved would be appreciated.

Appears to have been an issue with the "Check and Send" add-in. When I disabled it, emails sent fine.
