Thunder bird on windows (115.10.1) freezes with a not responding message when a few delete messages are made. Earlier it used to scroll to some random location on the screen. now it freezes for a long while. Is this a bug to be fixed or something wrong at my end?

thanks Raman

McAfee Windows Defender

Anti-virus software is often the culprit for the kind of problems to describe. First I'd get rid of McAfee altogether right away. It is known to have caused problems with Thunderbird in the past. Then, with McAfee out of the way, create an exemption in Windows Defender for the Thunderbird profile folder, so that the Defender real-time scanner will not scan it. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data#w_how-to-find-your-profile
