Keep getting this message

sending username did not suceed. the server pop.iomartcloud.com responded; mate;the command must be one of CAPA,USER,PASS or QUIT.

This has happened on three accounts. The settings are exactly the same on the machine next to it which is running thunderbird OK on WIN 10. The new machine is running sonoma 14.6.1 Back to Apple mail me thinks.

If this is an IMAP account. then you probably should not be using a server with 'pop' in the name.

Try removing the authentication setting, as that may be the cause.

Tried - still exactly the same message. Contacted Titan. The reply ignored the questions and said they had not changed the passwords. Pointed to a site to check passwords - it does not show paaswords. Pointed to help documentation - thunderbird not mentioned in set up help.

Enough time wasted on this nonsense. I've been using computers since sincair 81 days and programming is worse now than it ever was.

Back to using Mail. Thunderbird does not work on this machine.

Thanks for the support.
