Occasionally when I search with google, the resulting leads redirect me to a page that cannot load. the message is " Firefox can't find the server at google.ad.sgdoubleclick.net." Why does it redirect me to google.ad instead of the website listed in the search results? It doesn't happen every time, just occasionally. I check the URL, and the results are produced by google. When I hover over a link, it says the URL of the search result destination, but when I click, it takes me to something like http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/nclk?sa=L&ai=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com.au%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26source%3Dweb%26cd%3D4%26ved%3D0CCsQFjAD%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.filebuzz.com%252Ffindsoftware%252FWp_S1_Pcsync%252F1.html%26ei%3DUa-FTMG5ENS2ccGr1J4I%26usg%3DAFQjCNF4-LBAk--WaNW33h1ia6T8kA4poA%26sig2%3D-TIUhZx2AMAZfLa6GthCIA

What do you mean? Some of the links on search results are ad's? Or you never get to the search page at all and it redirects you to doubleclick.net?

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.

I think this is Google playing games: it forces you to go through them (googleads.g.doubleclick.net) instead of following the link directly. (Google of course collects data in the process). I think sometimes their mechanism malfunctions, and you are sent to a wrong address. I really hate this. This is my first major disappointment with Google, and I am starting to use other search engines.

However, I installed Redirect Remover extension (from BetterBrowser), and it works like a charm. Problem fixed.

I still think Google is at fault (see my previous post). However, I installed Redirect Remover extension from www.aredeye.com and it works like a charm. Problem fixed!
