can't paste bookmark folders in the bookmark toolbar below the location bar and above the tabs. The bar won't accept a bookmark folder from copy and paste or drag and drop from the bookmark library.

Use the library itself. Copy move/drag the required folders into your Bookmarks Toolbar folder in the library sidebar. The required bookmarks folder will then appear on your bookmarks toolbar.

I noticed with firefox 4.obeta8 it is even possible to customise toolbars to the extent of adding additional toolbars or placing bookmark items on say the filemenu bar.

Check that you still have the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar

  • Make sure that you have the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
  • Check in "View > Toolbars > Customize" that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the Customize window onto the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" then click the "Restore Default Set" button
