Since downloading FF 4.0 I have been unable to clear recent history. The dialog box opens, I select time frame and click "OK". The box "hangs". After a period of time I click the "X" / Close button and FF closes et. al. Doesn't matter the time frame selected. I even tried it in "Safe Mode"...no difference.

OS = WinXP Pro SP3

You can try to select only one item at the time via Details to see if one in particular is causing that problem.

DUH! Why didn't I think of that.

Okay. "Cookies" is the problem.

Any ideas anybody?

It is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
