why do I have to log in to sites where I have asked to be remembered every time I open firefix?

I have firefox on my laptop and on my desktop. On my laptop, when I start up, my tabs open to facebook, gmail and my other email portal and all are logged in and ready to go. On my desktop I have to log in every one of them every time. I have checked the boxes that say keep me logged in but they never do that. I want to fix this but I don't know how.

  • Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
  • Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

thank you so much! through your instructions I realized that I had it set so that it deleted the cookies for those pages each time I closed firefox.
