Firefox doesn't store the cookies as separate files in the Local Settings\Application Data folder, but stores all cookies in a SQLite database file called cookies.sqlite.

Thank you cor-el for the reply. When I make changes to Google settings by turning off "Google Instant" it doesn't update the file you indicated (cookies.sqlite)? Is there something else?

XP Location: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ell38x6s.default\cookies.sqlite

In fact no files in this directory get updated.
