How to stop video from playing

more options

Recently, videos embedded on pages I visit begin playing the minute I load the page. If I load a page to a new tab, I have to go hunt down what's playing. These used to wait until I clicked PLAY before they started. I thought that this was a change to Huffington Post, but I now notice it does it everywhere. That wouldn't be so annoying, but the pause button won't work either. Videos on YouTube still work fine.

I didn't have trouble but I may have pulled up only one that had video.

see http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#autoplay for what I do in Firefox and with Windows 7 (I had Vista before Win7, so the Windows part probably all came from what I did on Vista).
