What are the incompatibilities between Firefox versions?

For example, what should I expect from Firefox 3.6 to Firefox 4?

IE is used to be incompatible between version but they provide method to automatically switch to compatibility mode. Anything similar with Firefox?

Firefox doesn't have a compatibility mode for older versions like IE needs because current IE versions tend to be more W3C compliant and that can break sites that rely on code that only works in previous versions.
Firefox has always been W3C compliant and thus doesn't need such a switch.
