I used to be able to start a word in my Search box and many completed words would drop down for me to choose from...This no longer happens. i.e. If I started the word plexi, completed words starting with those letter would drop down for me to choose from.

Thank you..I had done that yesterday. Lo & behold, it did do the drop downs with signing into my Facebook Accounts for the first time :)) Alas, it didn't help with the Google Search box which had been doing it all my computer's life. :( I swear Gremlins get into my computer when I shut it down for the night. :)

On some Google pages that search box has an autocomplete=off attribute and Firefox won't save data if it has.

On the result page there is a search bar at the top and a search bar at the bottom.
The bar at the top has autocomplete=off and the bar at the bottom doesn't have it.
