Despite all the helpful suggestions here, I still cannot get firefox to play .wmv files.

Have tried suggestions and nothing seems to work to get firefox 6 to play embedded .wmv files at websites.

Even when I change the options in the applications section to anything else (like always ask or save or use windows media player) it still flashes the same error popup: "*.wmv cannot be opened, because the associated helper application does not exist. Change the association in your preferences."
