when searching with Google lately if i click on a site it sometimes will not go to the site but rather to an advertisement. Only with Mozilla and not other search engines.

Lately when I am using google search and only on mozilla, the results will come up fine but when I click on some of the sites it goes to an fake advertisement site and not to the proper site. It doesn't do it with other search engines such as chrome. I scanned for viruses and malware but it is still doing it.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
