Upper 1/4 of screen doesn't respond to mouse - cannot log out of sites when log off button is in that area, ie. Facebook, banking sites, etc. This does not happen with IE. I have reinstalled Firefox to no avail.

Menu bar, tabs, history, searches, etc. work fine, but under that area, I am unable to access anything. For instance, on the Firefox Help screen the area on the right side of the screen that indicates my user id - Sign Out - Inbox - and Other applications will not respond to the mouse. Consequently, I will be unable to sign out of Firefox Help. This is true for every website I access. Fortunately, at least one of the banks I use has an additional log out area at the base of the screen that is usable.

Recently both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

I disabled the Yahoo Toolbar extension (Babylon extension was already disabled due to not being compatible with current version of Firefox) and that fixed my problem! Thanks so much.
