I use firefox on my desktop and notebook so iwould like to use it on my new Acer A500 tablet. I would like to remove addons/widgets that I dont need such as Amazon and Twitter search addons. Can you tell me how to do this please?

Hi,

Yes, to remove them, do the following:

1. Tap the menu button in the upper right and select Add-ons. 2. Tap the Amazon.com listing on the add-ons screen and tap the Disable or Uninstall button, depending on what you want to do.

(Note: if your acer A500 uses the phone UI, you'll swipe left and tap the Gear button, then tap the puzzle piece to get to the add-ons page in step 1 above)

Thanks for the quick response. I have tried your suggestion and I can "disable" the addon but not "uninstall" it. The "uninstall" option is greyed out.

Hi,

Ah, you are correct, you can't uninstall the integrated search engines through the UI. You can only disable them. Sorry for the wrong info.

Thanks again. I have had my tablet for a few days; its a steep learning curve. I expect everything to be like MS Windows :-)
