Older versions of firefox work okay but 3.6.24, 8.0, and 9.0.1 have all crashed in the same manner.

Click to open the program and program goes straight to crash dialog box.

Most recent attempt has been on new computer, fresh download of 9.0.1 and same results (WIN 7 64). Went back to 3.6.13 and everything works great!

Can't Figure out why new versions won't work....

Hey AhmicLake,

Have you tried starting Firefox in Safe Mode? Hold down "shift" while Firefox is starting up. If the crash doesn't happen in Safe Mode, you should read Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems.

There is also a lot of useful stuff in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) Knowledge Base article. Since you've recently upgraded, you might want to check out this article as well.

Hopefully this helps!
