Firefox Upgrade to Version 9.0 and Inability to Access Instant Messenger (CHAT) on Yahoo Mail: Yahoo Mail Instant Messenger is also not available from the Yahoo Mail Options dropdown menu.
After installing v9.0.1, I can not open a Yahoo chat window, when I receive an instant message. I can hear the audible notification of the incoming IM, but there is nothing to click on and open the chat window. FF8.xx did not have this problem.
This is the second major defect in FF9. There are several internet posts about this. Please repair.

Hi jayrubin,
This sounds like a known issue reported here:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=713014
There was a workaround posted, but I've not tested it myself. Here are the steps.
- Go into Yahoo Messenger Options - Change the Window in the dropdown to Tab and press OK.
- Then go back and switch it to small window and press OK.
Once the bug is officially resolved, you could try running a Nightly or Aurora build to use the fix early.
Hopefully this helps!
Thanks Matt. Yahoo Messenger does not have an Options section. It does have Preferences. There really isn't a "window" selection, and there is no "small window" selection. The only "tab" selection is "open incoming messages in a task bar tab." I selected this, pressed OK, then switched it back to "window." This does not correct the Firefox bug.
Before installing FF9, incoming Yahoo instant messages were shown in a small flashing tab on the task bar. Once clicked on, it became a small unobtrusive chat window. Now, I can hear the incoming IM audible sound, but no tab or window pops up and there is nothing to click on. Sender keeps sending IM's but the only way to establish contact is to launch a new contact! This is a Firefox issue - they need to fix it!
Yeah, yeah, we know it's a Firefox issue, use FF10 beta, it's fixed.
