Since I installed Firefox 10.0 when I open my bookmarks I get a side window that opens and stays open when I click on a bookmark. I have to go back to the top icon to close the side window. In the past when I would get the drop down bookmark list that would disappear when I clicked on a bookmark. Is there a way to go back to the way it used to be?

Looks that you use the toolbar icon that opens the bookmarks in the sidebar and not the Bookmarks Menu button with the drop marker that opens the drop down menu.

Firefox 4+ versions have two bookmark buttons with a star in the Customize window.
One star button has a drop marker that open a Bookmark menu.
The other star button without the drop marker opens the bookmarks in the sidebar.

You can drag the Bookmarks menu button with the drop marker in the Customize window from the toolbar palette on a toolbar (e.g. Navigation Toolbar or Tab Bar or to the left side of the Bookmarks Menu Items).

Click on view up top.. click on sidebar and untick bookmarks and this will take away the sidebar.. You will only have your bookmarks tab then on the menu bar
