Whenever I use weather.com i get the same screens as my friend does on his tablet and smartphone. I no longer get the 'normal' full-scteen loads of the web-site. instead 1/5 or more is the ahead and back arrows for smartphones & tablets.

this is happening in 13, 14, 15, and firefox aurora.

Tried it with the IE browser, and it still loads fine there. What went wrong? and especialy how do I get it back to 'normal'??

Perhaps a little tweaking is in order. Shockwave and Java were outdated and needed re-installation on mine! Took a couple of efforts with restarts but it is obvious that it solved my problems! Firefox Mozilla Toolbar 'Help' > 'Firefox Help' > lower right side of page displays link to Plugin Update review....

Alright then... If you by some reason are being redirected to their mobile site can you find a link at the bottom of the page saying "View desktop site", if not is it possible that you by mistake has zoomed in at the page? If so can it be resolved by pressing "ctrl" and "0" (zero).

nope, not it... but...

hunting around in the html and vieving the code displaying the "arrows",

I find code that screens for MSIE 7 and 8 non-touch pad browsers, but no sign of checks for any others...

I'll have to fire up the laptop tomorrow (which has the same issue) and get you folks a print-screen of the code.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
