firefox title bar disappears
The title bar , minimize, and close window disappear. I found some help but it does not work for very long.
Chosen solution
Just a note on TITLE Bar missing.
I recently had a problem with (title bar missing), I think that was with Version 19. As of version 20.0.1 there have been no problems the Title bar has not disappeared.
It was never full screen mode.

Your Firefox might be stuck in full screen mode. You can use the F11 function key to switch between full screen and normal display modes. If you do not have an F11 key, sliding the mouse pointer to the top of the screen and right-clicking should display a short menu to exit full screen mode.
Is that it?
F11 switches the screen but it goes into an auto hide mode. If i do F11 again, I don't see anything above the word "Bookmarks". Menus gone, link bar (Favorite) gone, url window gone. I can't pull the window down because there is nothing for the pointer to grab on to.
I don't know what causes it to happen. I start out fine, then the title disappears. When is working properly I can click on the title bar and go full screen.
If happens again I will take a snapshot
You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.
You can also try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Images: Firefox 1 : no title bar Firefox - F11 full screen mode Firefox 2 -coming out of F11 Firefox 3 - should be like this
Thanks
When this happens, if you press Ctrl+n to open a new window, does it look normal or does it have the same problem? Or another technique, if you press Ctrl+t to open a blank tab in the window, then drag the first tab out so Firefox places it in its own window, is that one normal?
The developers have been tweaking how pop-up windows work and how scripts can use full screen. I wonder whether you are visiting a site that has found a way to lop off the window frame that normally runs around the contents? That should be blocked...
Ctrl - t duplicates whatever mode it is in. If title bar is there I get two windows with title bar. If there is NO title bar Ctrl - t gives me two windows without title bars. If I open 4 windows , I can close all 4 with one click on "file>exit" .
I know this because my replies got closed out.
Ctrl - n does all the same things
Does minimizing to the task bar and restoring that window bring back all its content?
Try do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Installation_directory
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 17.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
- Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
I backed up bookmarks then reset firefox (In help > trouble shooting) everything was OK for awhile ( the title bar was there ) Then out of the blue the title bar disappeared again but I could still pull the window with the title on it ( I could not pull it down before). Now it's back to the same problem ( no title bar and I can't pull the window down).
Next, is the full reinstall. It's the same version I am using now. Let's see what happens
After you Reset Firefox, did you install any add-ons?
I have not enable any add-ons. I don't even get a chance to enable add-ons. I just reinstall it, opened 2 windows and it's shot. All other program have title bars . The window I have now for this message has NO title bar. If I was to close it, I would lose this message.
Reinstalled firefox and it still loses the title bar. I tried to find out when it happens, so, I loaded website after website nothing happened. I did ctrl - T for a new firefox window and it came up without the Title bar.
The only thing I did after reinstall was load bookmarks and turned off "use hardware acceleration..."
With a Firefox window active, if you press Alt+Spacebar to call up the window control menu, does one appear?
Yes it does. let me the replay you. This is my first today and missing title bar
ignore my previous message i can't make sense of it. Yes It does, was right.

that does not help me I don't get pop windows I'm trying to get Firefox window to open with the title bar
A note to consider.. I'm Windows 7 64 bit I had a problem with 64 bit before. My Clickfree backup device didn't like 64-bit. That was resolved.
Modified
I notice you are running Windows 7 with the "Windows Classic" appearance. Perhaps this hasn't been tested thoroughly and there's a previously undiscovered incompatibility. Such things can be difficult to track down because you usually need a repeatable set of steps to reproduce the problem in order to make progress on fixing it.
I just ran for a about 7 hours with the title bar on. I then opened another window with a title bar.
I closed one window and both closed.
What happened! It's working right. I didn't do anything
installed Adblock Plus 2.2.1 and New Tab Homepage 0.4.3 Everything still works.
After a couple of good days of browsing with the title bar, now, the title bar's is gone again.
