Perhaps your problem is something to do with downloadhelper. Although I do not normally use that it has worked for me in the past when I try the latest version. And they do mention bug fixes in the latest release, which may help Firefox 17users: (see From version 4.9.11 to 4.9.12 )

On my current (none Windows system) downloadhelper is apparently not working, it has a menu option, but the options from that do not display.

I have not investigated further but thought it would help if you explain a bit more about what is, or is not working. and any error messages you see.

Please

  • say which version of downloadhelper you are using?
  • give more information about your problem

If Firefox is crashing you have good information in the last post. If it is some other problem, please try to explain it in more detail.
