Every time I start up my computer, I get the error message "There was a problem starting C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Mozilla\ryzmejap.dll. The specified module could not be found."

I can't seem to get rid of this error message and I'm not sure what the impact is on Firefox but it seems to be running very slow.

That sounds like malware.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
